It’s been delayed - but it’s still on the way
Do you have electronics to repair - but you’re waiting for the Berlin Repair Bonus? If so - you’ll have to wait a bit longer. According Berlin broadcaster rbb, the Senate has delayed the launch of the program for a few more weeks, at least until mid-September. Still, for those excited about fixing their old electronics instead of buying new ones, mid-September isn't too far away.We will be sure to keep you updated as soon as the program is up and running!
Here are the key details of the bonus, as well as a few expert tips you may want to take advantage of before it hits.
What?
The bonus is focused on household appliances as well as small electronics. At Repair Circle we believe the bonus should include computers and smartphones, and so far it looks like they will be. Initial reports said these devices would be excluded, but we know these devices are critical for productivity for many of us, and we expect they will also receive funds from the bonus.
How much?
The reimbursement works in two different ways depending on where you take your item for repair:
If you visit a repair cafe, you could get 100% of your repair costs covered, as long as it falls between 25 and 200 euros.
For those opting to go to a professional repair shop, half of the repair costs will be covered for invoices between 75 and 200 euros.
